Exhibition of illustrations by Ester Garcìa

November 9th, 2018 – February 17th, 2019

Palazzo Blu is pleased to host in the exhibition hall on the ground floor the plates of Ester Garcìa selected to represent Spain, the host country of 2018 as part of the illustration for children. The Fabularium exhibition. The small illustrated catalog will be inaugurated during the days of the festival and will remain open to the public until February 17th 2019. In this way Palazzo Blu also offers its special contribution to the fulfillment of this year’s sixteenth edition of the Pisa Book Festival.
The beautiful images of Selecciòn Natural (yes, the natural Selection of Darwin!) or the ironic “Por qué los gatos no if llevan sombrero” (Because cats do not wear a hat) and the committed “El màs ràpido” (The fastest) will underline the expressive talent of Ester Garcia, a young illustrator from Càceres who was surrounded since childhood by pencils, books and dreams to tell.

Ester Garcìa was born in Càceres in 1984. She has always loved fables and illustrated books for children. After graduating in Arts in Salamanca, she moved to Madrid to continue her design studies where she currently works as an illustrator since 2008. Her illustrations have received nominations and awards and have been the subject of exhibitions in Spain and abroad.
Esther’s drawings will accompany the exhibition on surrealism “From Magritte to Duchamp”, the great autumn exhibition hosted by Palazzo Blu on the tenth anniversary of its activity. School children or their families can stop as always in the ground floor room and draw with the materials made available by the foundation, being inspired by the precise and suggestive drawings of Ester Garcia.
Admission to the “Fabularium” exhibition will be free and will follow the opening hours of “From Magritte to Duchamp” exhibition. The inauguration of the exhibition is scheduled for Thursday, November 8th at 5.00 PM in the exhibition hall on the ground floor of Palazzo Blu. Everyone, especially children are invited to participate!

The next day, Friday November 9th, at 10:00 AM Ester Garcia will hold a workshop with school children who want to meet the artist, at the same time with the Pisa Book Festival inauguration.
